Contiguous Allocation  Pengalokasian memori dilakukan secara berlanjut ke blok berikutnya dalam sebuah disk. Untuk menemukan free space, system akan membaca ke blok berikutnya dan mengalokasikannya ke blok kosong yang ditemukan pertama kali 2. Linked Allocation Pada metode pengalokasian ini, setiap file dianggap sebagai sebuah linked list dari disk blok. Metode ini mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan yg terjadi pada metode contiguous allocation, dan dapat di expand kapan saja. Dapat juga menggunakan free space pada blok secara random.
